Construction Products Sales Representative (Civil, Structural, Oil and Gas)
Description

Promotes the use and generates sales of AS&G’s line of building materials products to contractors, owners, and specifiers.  Calls on contractors, architects & engineers involved in construction. Helps increase our presence and exposure to the oil and gas industry. Prepares monthly & year-end-summaries along with routine budget forecasts.

Responsibilities
  1. Promotes the use of AS&G’s product line to contractors, owners, and specifiers.
  2. Working with the Sales Manager, General Manager or Operating Manager, develops estimates
    for contractors/customers on larger or specialized projects.
  3. Researches customer requests for special products and services, provides pricing and
    coordinates purchases as needed.
  4. Continuously monitors the market for opportunities to provide products and services.
  5. Visits Plan Centers to evaluate the use of AS&G building materials on upcoming projects.
  6. Verifies product specifications compatibility.
  7. Prepares and submits job quotes to contractors and obtains orders from them.
  8. Visits job sites to verify customer satisfaction and promotes future sales.
  9. Prepares price requests, submittals, and special-order forms for presentation.
  10. Advises Building Materials Manager and Sales Manager of special products and accessories as needed.
  11. While overseeing warehouse and yard inventories, advises Building Materials Manager and Purchasing of low levels and dated materials.
  12. Advises Sales Manager of all customer complaints. Works with customers and Sales Manager to resolve complaints.
  13. Develops a monthly & annual sales forecast budget for building materials.
  14. Prepares year-end sales summaries.
  15. Prepares forecast and prices for upcoming year.
  16. Provides assistance and support on the Sales Counter as needed. Provides backup to other departments as needed.
  17. Plans and participates in trade shows and special promotions.
  18. Completes any other duties or assignments as required/requested by General Manager.
  19. Some travel required.
Qualifications
  1. High school diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  2. Minimum of 2 years of sales, marketing and customer relations experience in the building materials and construction field.
  3. Knowledge and experience working with oil and gas ventures.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of reading project drawings and understanding specifications required therein.
  5. Possesses oral and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively to promote products to design and specifying professionals.
  6. Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities.
  7. Excel and database skills.
  8. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  9. Organizational skills.
  10. Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record that meets company’s fleet policy.
  11. Must be a team player but also have the ability to work independently.
