Promotes the use and generates sales of AS&G’s line of building materials products to contractors, owners, and specifiers. Calls on contractors, architects & engineers involved in construction. Helps increase our presence and exposure to the oil and gas industry. Prepares monthly & year-end-summaries along with routine budget forecasts.
- Promotes the use of AS&G’s product line to contractors, owners, and specifiers.
- Working with the Sales Manager, General Manager or Operating Manager, develops estimates
for contractors/customers on larger or specialized projects. - Researches customer requests for special products and services, provides pricing and
coordinates purchases as needed. - Continuously monitors the market for opportunities to provide products and services.
- Visits Plan Centers to evaluate the use of AS&G building materials on upcoming projects.
- Verifies product specifications compatibility.
- Prepares and submits job quotes to contractors and obtains orders from them.
- Visits job sites to verify customer satisfaction and promotes future sales.
- Prepares price requests, submittals, and special-order forms for presentation.
- Advises Building Materials Manager and Sales Manager of special products and accessories as needed.
- While overseeing warehouse and yard inventories, advises Building Materials Manager and Purchasing of low levels and dated materials.
- Advises Sales Manager of all customer complaints. Works with customers and Sales Manager to resolve complaints.
- Develops a monthly & annual sales forecast budget for building materials.
- Prepares year-end sales summaries.
- Prepares forecast and prices for upcoming year.
- Provides assistance and support on the Sales Counter as needed. Provides backup to other departments as needed.
- Plans and participates in trade shows and special promotions.
- Completes any other duties or assignments as required/requested by General Manager.
- Some travel required.
- High school diploma, bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of sales, marketing and customer relations experience in the building materials and construction field.
- Knowledge and experience working with oil and gas ventures.
- Knowledge and understanding of reading project drawings and understanding specifications required therein.
- Possesses oral and written skills and the ability to communicate effectively to promote products to design and specifying professionals.
- Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of personalities.
- Excel and database skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Organizational skills.
- Must possess a valid state driver’s license and have an acceptable driving record that meets company’s fleet policy.
- Must be a team player but also have the ability to work independently.
